Registering a domain with us is deliberately simple, and which route suits you depends on what you already have.
Most people fall into the first case without realising it: if you are buying an annual hosting package, the domain is already part of it. There is nothing extra to pay and nothing separate to arrange.
If you are past that point, or you want a batch of domains rather than one, the other two routes are below.
A domain is included with an annual hosting package
Any annual hosting package includes one domain — .com, .net, .org or .info — for the first year, and for every year the annual package is renewed.
So the domain does not lapse a year in and turn into a separate bill. As long as the hosting renews annually, the included domain renews with it.
Tell us the name you want when you set the account up and we will register and configure it, which means it will already be pointing at your hosting space when you first sign in.
If you already have a hosting account
- Check the name you want is available.
- Email [email protected] with that name.
- We post an invoice in your existing hosting control panel.
- Once it is paid, we register the domain and configure it for you.
Because the invoice appears in the control panel you already use, the domain stays on the same account and the same billing history as everything else. That is worth more than it sounds a few years later, when somebody has to work out where a domain lives.
Check availability before you email. A name that has gone will only cost a round trip. If your first choice is taken, send us two or three alternatives in order of preference and we will register the first one still free.
If you want to buy domains directly
If you plan to buy a number of domains, with or without hosting from us, the domain reseller account is the better tool.

It gives you one interface for the whole portfolio — registration, renewal, transfers and DNS — which is far easier than tracking a dozen domains individually. It is the right choice for agencies, resellers and anyone holding names speculatively.
Choosing a name that will still work in five years
- Short beats clever. Anything you have to spell out over the phone will be mistyped.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers where you can. They survive on a business card and get lost in speech.
- Take the .com if it is free, even if you intend to use something else. It is what people type by default.
- Think about the email address it produces. You will say it out loud more often than you will say the website.
If the exact name is gone, a short prefix or suffix usually reads better than a hyphen: getacme.com is easier to say than acme-inc.com.
